Introduction
This guide explains the steps of how to connect HABEL Dokumentenmanagement Software Release Version 2017 with the Silent Brick WORM Archive Version 2.10

Requirements Compliance Option is necessary to enable various WORM volume types.

Installation and Connectors Installation and electrical connection as well as network connection are to be done as described in the manual

Installation Network Adjustments The network settings are to be adjusted as described in the manual Installation

Go to Preferences -> SMB

Add a new user matching your HABEL service user

Assign at least one Brick to the Stage Bricks. Brick may be

Standard Brick
-
FLASH Brick
-
WORM Brick. Will be partitioned. Size as needed. Default: 1TB

Add one or more Bricks to the Archive

HABEL will write containers files of a configurable size. Default: 100 MB

Using a WORM as Stage can not be reverted!

Choose 'add' under 'Sub Volumes' Tab of your archive

Volume Name: HABEL
-
Volume Type: WORM with Retention ( RW/RO triggered )

Retention: As desired. Default: 10 years.

Check the checkboxes for

Do not archive 0-byte files
-
Do not allow renaming of files
-

To create a SMB Share click 'Add SMB Share'

Share path: /

Share name: HABEL
-
User: As defined in step 1

Uncheck the checkboxes

Case sensitive

Browseable

In older HABEL releases ( pre Release 2017 ) HABEL will need a readonly share for clients and a readwrite share for HABEL Dokumentenmanagement

Configure the UNC path in you HABEL Dokumentenmanagement

If needed configure retention policy for your archive. Otherwise the default set in Step 3 will be used
