Software Update Silent Brick System

The system will be unavailable during the update.

The user interface of the system can be reached via WebBrowser at https://<System IP>

Check which software version is currently installed on the system.

If you have software version 2.31 or higher, you can update directly to 2.65

Go to the Software Update Page. There you will find a lot of information describing new and discontinued features

Scroll down a bit and you will find the download link on the right side of the page.

It is not possible to downgrade the system back to an older version.

Download the latest software via the download link

Do not unpack the .tar file. The file is automatically unpacked and checked by the system.

Do not rename the downloaded file. The system expects the file to be checked as a .tar file with the original name.

Stop the data storing to the system before the update.

Take the archives and volumes offline.

Reboot the system via the GUI to ensure that no processes are hanging after a long period of operation. In a replicated system, both systems must be rebooted.

Wait until the reboot is complete and the system is accessible again.

In case of a replicated system, with primary and secondary system you have to update the secondary system first. When the secondary system is ready, you can start with the primary system.

In case of a replicated system, start now with the secondary system.

Go via https://<System IP> to the GUI of the respective system.

Click "Service" -> "File Update of Silent Brick System. Click "Browse" and select the relevant update file.

When you have selected the correct file, Click "Update".

Depending on software version, used hardware and the number of stored files, the update on individual machines require approx. 30 - 60 minutes for the update.

Controllers with connected shelves need up to 2 hours if a firmware update has to be done on the shelf and the inserted bricks !

During the update, the system must not be restarted or disconnected from power supply.

Take the archives and volumes online.

Wait until all archives and volumes are online again

Everything should now be online again.

If you see here "Pending validation" the Update ist still running

If you only have one system, the update is now complete. If not, carry out the steps just performed on the primary system.

When the Update of the secondary system is finished, start with the primary system.

Carry out the steps just performed on the primary system.

Check the system. Click "Shelves" and "Bricks" in "Resources".

Everything on both systems should be now online again.
